The Mathematics Department of sopaan successfully conducted Math Masterminds, a mathematics subject event, for students of classes 6, 7 and 8. The event was organized with the aim of promoting logical thinking, problem-solving skills and a positive attitude towards mathematics in an engaging and enjoyable manner.

The event included a variety of activities such as quizzes, puzzles, mental math challenges and problem-solving rounds, all designed according to the students’ grade levels. Participants displayed great enthusiasm and active involvement throughout the event. The questions encouraged analytical thinking, quick calculations, and teamwork, making the learning process both fun and meaningful.

A total of 12 students participated in the quiz, divided into teams of 3 as per their houses. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, all eager to compete and display their mathematical aptitude. The competition was divided into multiple rounds, each designed to test different aspects of mathematical knowledge:

1. Preliminary Round: The initial round consisted of a written test with multiple-choice questions for all the students of Sopaan.
2. Screening Round: In this round, selected participants had to solve critical mathematical problems. In this round, further short-listed participants were tested for the final team selection for each house.
3. Final Round: The final round involved 3 rounds of more complex problem-solving tasks, including application-based questions based on Arithmetic, algebra, Geometry, Logic, and famous mathematicians that required teamwork and critical thinking. The top selected students from the previous rounds participated in this final stage. Final Stage was also divided into 3 rounds with questions of 100 to 500 points each. After the final round, Udyam house were the winners followed second by Pragyan House and third position bagged by pravir house.

The faculty members of the Mathematics Department played an instrumental role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event. Mr. Shahbaz Khan and Ms. Mubarika Bano as the quiz masters, Ms Nikita did the stage management, Mr. Pankaj Bajpai and Mr. Ayoush Johari as the scorekeepers. Ms Aaisha Naseem and Ms. Swapna Choubey as the overall event in charges. Mr. Puneet Dubey and Mr. Nooh Hussain Mirza covered photography for the event. Mr. Rajesh Chotmurada was special guest for the Event. Ms. Swapna Choubey acknowledged all the participants and teachers after the event. 

Math Masterminds was a grand success, achieving its objective of making mathematics enjoyable and inspiring among students. The event concluded with appreciation for the participants and winners, encouraging all students to continue exploring the beauty of mathematics.
