LORES OF THE PAST, LIVING THE LEGACY - RS Post Card by Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya

Students across five countries gathered on an online platform to conduct a Round Square International Conference hosted by Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya speaking about the "Lores of the past,Living the legacy". The Round Square hosted by Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya School explored the essentiality of culture and heritage for our present world.

The keynote speaker for the conference was Dr. K. K. Muhammed, a renowned Indian archeologist, He was the Regional Director of the Archaeological Survey of India. He spoke extensively of his life's work as an experienced archeologist. It was very interesting for the delegates to learn about  his interaction with dacoits and their surprising contribution towards protection of heritage sites. As the defining factors of our society, heritage and culture do often rely on our assumptions about the ancient civilizations, despite that, the influence of such lores on our modern life is irrefutable.

Moving on with the Barazza session, the hosts from Scindia Kanya Vidhyalaya and a few others discussed on tales and legacies of our childhood and how it impacts our lives till date, talking about  Greek/Norse mythology to women empowerment, about sensitive themes such as India-Pakistan segmentation and how it impacted the delegate’s life in a short span, it was an insightful discussion.

The conference concluded by devising solutions for conservation of the same: volunteering from locals, ensuring proper implementation of legal frameworks about such sites, actively promoting individuals to participate in meetings, surveys, reports, and creating heritage clubs for better involvement.

It was an enriching experience for the TSVS delegates as they learned about different perspectives of our heritage and customs. They enjoyed interacting with students from diverse backgrounds.
