Children's Day

"Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow."  - Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru

Prangan celebrated Children’s day on Friday, 20th November 2020, with great festive fervour, to commemorate the 131st birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. As this day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of India’s First Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who was extremely fond of children, Prangan’s virtual celebration depicted the spirit of the occasion.

This day was extra special for Pranganites as we also celebrated World Children's Day to promote international togetherness and awareness among children. Children were briefed about UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund and child rights.

The Children’s Day celebration had a series of interesting and exciting events, all planned meticulously for complete entertainment. The celebration began with remembering Chacha Nehru by the teachers and students. This was followed by giving important information about the great leader, thinker, visionary and a true statesman – Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

The day began for the students of Prangan with great splendour and grandeur as children were dressed in their best bringing a party look and teachers created a high buzz amongst children as they dressed like children. The teachers wished the students in many very creative ways. Pre-recorded videos were shown to students as extravaganza filled with music, dance and some fun-filled activities. They were elated to see their teachers on their screens celebrating the day with zeal and enthusiasm. This left a lasting impact on the students. To make the day more special and entertaining for the children unique E- Awards (titles) were given to students. Children expressed their excitement as E- Awards (titles) came as a pleasant surprise to them.

The fun did not end here as excitement and enjoyment lay ahead for the students with special games that were organised, the fun games were highly appreciated by the tiny tots and were a grand success. With such a vast arena of events and fun-filled activities, it has proved to be a memorable day for the students.

There was a huge surprise for the children, with Ms. Manpreet Bhan, the Head of Prangan taking over the screen and pouring her wishes for the students of Prangan. She wished the children and motivated them. Children were very excited and felt appreciated and loved.

Each class celebrated the event with extreme gusto indulging in this grand fiesta and the happiness on the students’ faces was more than evident during our virtual Children’s Day Celebration! With much enthusiasm and excitement, the students celebrated the big, highly anticipated Children’s Day. We are grateful that social distancing due to COVID19 did not impede celebrating this special day.
