Be a Master Over Disaster

It’s a Class Teacher Time!! A perfect time, for the 3R’s - refocus, restart and refresh, our minds for a new start of a blissful week. The theme of today’s class teacher time was ‘Master over Disaster’. It is about conveying the message that many disasters can be avoided or prevented if we are vigilant, aware and prepared. October 13th 2020, is designated as the International Day for Disaster Reduction 2020. This event promotes a global culture of risk-awareness and disaster reduction. It is an opportunity to acknowledge the progress being made toward reducing disaster risk and losses in lives, livelihoods and health. 

Uplifting this noble cause on 12th October, Class teachers discussed with students efforts which everyone should make towards resilience to disaster. Though quite a trivial, student came up with innumerable ideas which are a step towards building a sustainable world in the long run like, ‘Say No to Plastic’, use bicycles more often and to habitually were a mask. They were shown videos highlighting contributions made to overcome disaster and transform lives. Students also promised to be socially-responsible eco-warriors. They resolved and declared that they will not allow harmful, non-degradable menace and poisonous chemicals in their homes and start a healthy habit to do their bit for the environment.
