Celebrating Gandhi Jayanti

The man of honesty

The man of Greatness

He is our Mahatma

The father of our nation!

Born in a family

Of Cultured background

Grown in a circle

Of Loving parents.

Honest, truthful and simple

Of body so frail yet nimble

With heart so big and true

With gifts which are given to few.

During this week, the Mentors` Time session was planned to share the moral skills learned from the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The importance of skills like honesty, believe in yourself, respecting all, integrity and lead by examples were explained to the children. A mini booklet on Gandhiji was shared with the Pranganites to make them aware of this humble man’s skills.

During the interactive session, the children narrated some real incidents for which they were appreciated for being honest. They also shared the occasion where they believed in themselves and emerged as winners. Students were also found eager to share how they got carried by temptations and indulged in wrong doings. They were also excited to share about the moments when they got motivation from their friends, parents and teachers for righteous behaviour.

Pranganites could establish a connect with Gandhiji`s philosophy as they discovered like the man himself his learnings are also very simple. All you need is a clear intent to follow them. They understood the need of these skills are for better development of ourselves, our society and nation.

It was a satisfying moment to see our students realise that true happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony! Let this small ripple be a tribute to Bapu and may it be practised by our students to create a wave of happiness around us!
