I am a proud Indian

‘Ahimsa is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon devised by the ingenuity of man.’ Mahatma Gandhi

"Patriotism or national pride is the feeling of love, devotion and sense of attachment to the homeland and with the citizens, who share the same sentiments. This Monday, on 10th August, class teacher’s time was dedicated to celebrate pride for nation and feeling of brotherhood. With a humble prayer from the School Journal, we began the class seeking God’s protection and grace. To honour India, Prangan’s little hearts hummed along with the tune of the song ‘Sare Jahan Se Accha.’  Saffron’s courage, White’s purity, Green’s prosperity and Ashoka Chakra’s blue wheel all came alive when students waved the tricolour flag as the song proceeded. Students used their artistic skills to draw and colour the national flag in their craft class this week. With National pride and love for Mother India children gleamed with joy. To invoke awe and greatness for our motherland teachers discussed a story on Ahimsa from their Value Education books. Throughout Prangan, this noble thought of non-violence was taught and discussed.  Ahimsa is an ancient Indian principle of nonviolence which applies to all living beings. Mahatma Gandhi used the ideals of truth and non-violence as his tools, as he led India's freedom struggle against British colonial rule. The theme ‘Proud to be an Indian’ reflected in all the activities of the day. In Prangan, we believe that being a proud Indian also means to be a responsible Indian.  The class ended with this great thought which Swami Vivekanand had stoutly preached, "Be proud that you are an Indian, proudly claim I am an Indian".
