Class Teacher Time - 22 June

Date: Monday, 22 June 2020

Theme: Mental Health during Quarantine/Lockdown.

Mental well-being plays a vital role in every aspect of one’s life. It is significant because it impacts our thoughts and emotions to a great extent. Further, it also defines our behavioural patterns.

During this year, COVID-19 is on the verge of reaching its climax. It has taken a toll on everyone in unique ways. Frankly speaking, COVID-19 has done mental harm to a lot more individuals than it has physical.

Keeping this thought in mind, the students of grade X E conducted an assembly on the 22nd of June, 2020. Their presentation revolved around maintaining one’s mental health during self-isolation.

In the midst of depression, anxiety and despondency, the students encouraged the thought to make mental health a priority in our lives during this difficult phase.

They voiced that derangement is not a personal failure, rather a natural reaction to stressful situations. They portrayed this through heart-throbbing real-life incidents, motivational speeches and optimistic poems and melodies which left the audience mesmerized.

The solace and reassurance provided by these students to end the stigma of mental illness were worthwhile. They implemented the thought that every time you lose hope, you need to remind yourself- ‘It’s a bad day, not a bad life.’

All things considered, the students of grade X E successfully conveyed the message that what mental health needs is - more sunlight, more unashamed conversation and more candour.
