High Commendation for "No Instrument Challenge"

21st of June, 2020

In the latest news, we participated in the “No Instrument Challenge” given by Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior in the month of May 2020; where participants had to create music using sound-producing resources available near them apart from any musical instrument. The competition was open for students of classes IX to XII  and the deadline to submit videos was 25th of May 2020. The theme for the competition was - COVID-19 Warriors' Anthem.

Proud moment for Sanskaar- Department of Music wants to take this opportunity to share the news that we have received “High Commendation” for our entry and got a special appreciation for the innovative and resourceful video by our talented students from Shikhar Block.

The song had to be self-composed thus Mr. Ashish Dass from Music Department came up with a melodious composition with the name- “Seva ki raah me” dedicated to our Corona Warriors. The performance did truly brighten the lives of our Modern Warriors.

With the outbreak of COVID-19, we all are staying inside our houses with limited access to all resources. Still, we had to take this challenge of grooming the students as this had to be it. Getting trained from home, learning the singing as well as the rhythm and percussion parts, producing sound using the parts of the human body, harmonic synchronization, etc was a great experience in student’s life as well as Music teachers training them for the same. We certainly can’t forget the effort put up by Mr. Animesh Shrivastava for the final mixing and editing of the video.

The performance was judged on the following aspects:-

  • Harmony of sounds and vocals
  • Technique and Creativity of Video making
  • Interpretation of theme
  • Tone quality and Rhythm
  • Overall performance
