Application Process

This workshop was taken by Mr. Dipankar. The objective of this workshop was to introduce the students to the application processes of applying to the universities abroad as well as to the Liberal Arts  Colleges in India. Miss. Simran, who is currently studying Psychology in the University of British Columbia, through her experience with college applications made the students realize that college applications were to be taken very seriously because an exceptional college application takes at least 4 months to formulate. The students were shown  examples of 'Statement of purpose' as well as specific ' essays ' as well.

Further, Dipankar told the students the trick to go about college applications, i.e. to create a 'Knowledge Dump '. A knowledge dump is preferably a diary where you jot down things like - the challenges you faced in your life, what shaped you as a person, your weaknesses, your strengths, your assets, your achievements and so on. After the knowledge dump is ready, the next step is to prioritize the events, achievements, the attributes of yours and to string them together to form a statement of purpose which is a genuine and a transparent version of 'you'.

This session sent most of the students into a journey of self realization and self retrospection to find out who they really are in order to compile their Statement of Purpose: Their Life.
