Grade VII visits Meteorological Station to decrypt weather patterns

As part of the Geography Curriculum, the students of Grade VII visited the Meteorological Station on 23rd March 2018. The group was welcomed by the team of Meteorologists and they learnt a lot about the changing weather. Important meteorological concepts were taught by seeking reference from the data collected by weather instruments and the students saw a real relationship between humidity and rainfall and how changes in wind direction seem to usher in changes in the weather itself. This trip gave the students a valuable insight into the different tools used by the meteorologists for the study of the weather phenomenon and its prediction. The students also observed the functioning of different tools such as Sundial, Thermometer, Barometer, Hygrometer, Anemometer, Pyranometer and Rain-gauge. A quiz on the weather was conducted by the Weather Station to celebrate World Meteorological Day in the end.
